After the two-month heatwave of Summer, Britain is ready to welcome a slowing down in retail sales for August, according to data from the British Retail Consortium. Total sales were just 1.3 per cent higher than August 2017 with a positive growth rate for July and August as well.
What will be the next challenges? Fall is around the corner, back to school il ready and new collections are already flying in stores.
What is yet to come is the event that will boost sales between a rather-flat period such as autumn and the magic of Christmas time.
With most UK retailers now taking part, this year's Black Friday is supposed to be the biggest ever seen in the British country. Importing the traditional American day, Uk stores will adapt for both online and offline channels. Argos, Tesco as well as Amazon.co.uk will most likely adapt to the prices-crash typical of the day after Thanksgiving. This might be the chance to start with Christmas gifts and maybe a good moment for footfall after the post-Summer pause.
When is this going to be this year? November 23rd. Save the date!
